COMMITTEES AND CHAIRPERSONS
In order for the WildCat Wrestling Club to take the next step in supporting athletes not only on the wrestling mat, but also off the wrestling mat when they step away from their competitive wrestling career we need the help from many members of the club to take leadership positions.
Even if you can not commit to spending a couple hours a month with the club, volunteer to mentor an athlete on resume building, interview tips, etc that will help him or her grow professionally.
Membership
- Maintain contact list of all members
- Develop email newsletter
- Communicate with members through the website
Finance
- Deposit monies raised at events
- Prepare preliminary income statements and balance sheets for tax return and other compliance reporting
- Provide the board with monthly financial statements
Alumni
- Update alumni directory
- Support alumni and seniors in job search
- Help alumni and seniors with career advice
- Co-ordinate alumni reunion at the first home dual meet each year
Professional Development
- Develop networking opportunities for athletes and members
- Organize list of other members that can mentor athletes and members
- Provide submitted resumes to webmaster for posting in members only section
Golf Tournament
- Locate and co-ordinate the site
- Develop rules for the tournament what prizes will be awarded
- Market the tournament locally on websites like IllinoisWrestling.Com, IWCOA.Com, WrestlingGear.Com, etc
- Develop a press release to be sent to our media outlets
- Obtain door prizes
Tickets and Seating and Away Trips
- Co-ordinate preferred seating for club members at home duels
- Make sure tickets are available at will call for members
- Develop seating chart for major tournaments so members can sit together as desired
- Obtain a block of rooms
- Co-ordinate transporation air or bus as appropriate
- Find a place for social events work with social chair to co-ordinate event
- Arrange for coaches, wrestlers, speakers as appropriate for each social
Promotions and Publicity
- Communicate with our media list to keep them up to date of recent events
- Maintain web site and work with board members to make sure board minutes, future events, and other information is kept up to date on the site
- Work with membership in developing our email newsletter
- Monitor message board, grant access to members only, remove undesired messages that violate message board policies
- Develop campaign to get more students and fans to attend dual meets
Photograper
- Take photos of duals and tournaments of both wrestlers and club members
- Take photos at social events and trips through out the year
- Co-ordinate with membership and promotions
Coach and Wrestler Luncheons
- Co-ordinate schedule with wrestlers and coaches
- Pick a spot for the quarterly luncheons or dinners
- Develop a list of possible places to meet both near Evanston and outer suburbs
End of Year Banquet
- Promote the banquet to club members and friends of WildCat Wrestling
- Co-ordinate key note speaker preferable NU alumni
- Find location and develop pricing for tickets
- Plan program with NU coaches and club wrestlers
Telephone Chairperson
- Co-ordinate telephone callers
- Work with other committee chairpersons to make sure messages are getting out to members
- Work with other committee chairpersons to get information on website and other mailings rather then relying on telephone callers to get the message out
